Hyslop votes for an extra £5 million for West Lothian Council Labour Opposition fail to support investment in West Lothian Local Constituency MSP, Fiona Hyslop, has voted in favour of the Scottish Government’s landmark budget which will ensure that communities across West Lothian will benefit from even greater financial support than originally planned with an additional £5.269 million in capital and resource funding. PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Use: Hyslop Welcomes £5,052,000 Pupil Funding   Fiona Hyslop MSP for the Linlithgow Constituency has welcomed the Pupil Equity Funding of £5,052,000 which 4,210 pupils in West Lothian are eligible for. The additional support is to be spent at the discretion of teachers and school leaders to close the poverty related attainment gap in their schools.  Allocations are based on the number of pupils from P1 to S3 known to be eligible for free school meals with schools receiving around £1,200 per pupil. Local MSP Condemns Race Hate Comments Local Linlithgow MSP Fiona Hyslop has condemned the comments made by 34 year old Colin Robertson from Linlithgow after he was exposed as the man behind the far right extremist blog ‘Millenial Woes’ and a YouTube “vlogger” channel, where he spouts white ­supremacist views and promotes hatred of black people, Jews and women. Fiona said, “This type of disgraceful behaviour has no place in society. “Racism must always be called out and I am glad that this race hate has been exposed. “People in Linlithgow will be appalled that such hatred was being broadcast from someone in the town and doesn't reflect the tolerance and respect for others which is the normal character of the place and the people."
