Hyslop Welcomes over 92% of West Lothian Young People Continuing Education Local Constituency MSP Fiona Hyslop has welcomed figures that show Scotland having the highest level of positive destinations for school leavers from the most deprived communities. In West Lothian 92% of young people are choosing to continue their education, entering training, or getting a job after they leave school. Hyslop votes for an extra £5 million for West Lothian Council Labour Opposition fail to support investment in West Lothian Local Constituency MSP, Fiona Hyslop, has voted in favour of the Scottish Government’s landmark budget which will ensure that communities across West Lothian will benefit from even greater financial support than originally planned with an additional £5.269 million in capital and resource funding. PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Use: Hyslop Welcomes £5,052,000 Pupil Funding   Fiona Hyslop MSP for the Linlithgow Constituency has welcomed the Pupil Equity Funding of £5,052,000 which 4,210 pupils in West Lothian are eligible for. The additional support is to be spent at the discretion of teachers and school leaders to close the poverty related attainment gap in their schools.  Allocations are based on the number of pupils from P1 to S3 known to be eligible for free school meals with schools receiving around £1,200 per pupil. Hyslop Comments on Airport’s Flight Path Proposals Local Constituency MSP Fiona Hyslop has commented on Edinburgh Airport’s second consultation which was launched today (Monday 30th January) which looks specifically at flight path options. The consultation will end on April 30th 2017. Hyslop Welcomes Greater Powers for Communities Fiona Hyslop, Linlithgow Constituency MSP, has welcomed the asset transfer section of the new Community Empowerment Act which has come into force yesterday. (Monday 23rd January) The new law will make it easier for communities in Scotland to take over land or buildings that are currently in public ownership. Hyslop Backs Plans to Keep Scotland in Single Market Following Brussels Visit Following her recent visit to Brussels on Monday, 16th January, local Constituency MSP Fiona Hyslop, who also has responsibility in the Scottish Government for International Engagement, has reiterated proposals to keep Scotland in the European Single Market. Hyslop Welcomes Multi-Million Extension Plans to Aldi in Bathgate Local MSP Fiona Hyslop has welcomed Aldi’s plans to expand its Regional Distribution Centre in Bathgate over the next two years.
