Fiona Hyslop Marks 75th Anniversary of NHS Scotland

Local MSP for the Linlithgow Constituency, Fiona Hyslop, has marked 75 years of NHS Scotland. This year also marks the 75th year of social care services.

Founded on July 5th 1948, NHS Scotland has provided health and social care services to people across Scotland and a reception was held in Parliament last week (Tues 20th June) to celebrate and commemorate the dedication of staff and volunteers over the years.

Fiona said,

“I want to take this opportunity to officially recognise the vital, often lifesaving, contribution made over the years by staff, partners in care, voluntary organisations and volunteers and I would like to thank each and every one of them for their commitment and dedication to their work, not least during the pandemic.

“The hard work and sacrifices made by those in the NHS in Scotland will always be remembered and we will forever be grateful for their service.

“Our NHS and its staff and volunteers are extremely valued and I am pleased that there was a reception in Parliament this week which recognised the incredible work and achievements of those who have worked for, and continue to work for, the NHS in Scotland.”
