Hyslop Conducts Flight Path Survey

Fiona Hyslop MSP asks for your views on flight path trial
Monday, 31 August 2015

Linlithgow Constituency MSP, Fiona Hyslop is conducting a survey to obtain the comments and concerns that her constituents have regarding the new flight path trial at Edinburgh Airport.

Commenting Fiona said;

“I have now received complaints from well over 80 households across Linlithgow, Bridgend, Broxburn, Uphall, Dechmont, Philpstoun and Ecclesmachan regarding the proposed flight path which began on June 25th this summer.

“I have been pursuing this issue with the Airport since my first meeting with them in June. There are clear issues around why they need the trial flight path in the first place, why this particular route and whether planes are sticking to it.

“I am pleased that at my instigation the Airport is agreeing to meet with all the affected Community Councils next week rather than piecemeal meetings with only a few concerned constituents.

“In the coming weeks I will be distributing a survey to the affected parts of my constituency, encouraging residents to get in touch and let me know their concerns so that I can continue to actively take up this issue directly with the Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport, who I will meet on the 9th of September. There will be drop off points for surveys in affected areas or otherwise constituents can stamp and send their returned surveys.”
