New charity shop to raise vital funds for West Lothian families

Fiona Hyslop MSP joined shoppers, supporters and volunteers today (August 22nd) to officially open the Home-Start West Lothian Charity Shop next door to her constituency office in Whitburn.

Ms Hyslop led the ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the shop on Main Street. Members of Home-Starts’ Senior Management Team, shop volunteers and supporters accompanied her.

Ms Hyslop said:

“I am delighted Whitburn has the chance to support such a worthy cause through the opening of this new shop.

“Home Start does fantastic work ensuring children are raised in a stable and loving environment. Having met with the charity in the past I am aware of the great work they do for new parents and am very proud to help support their work.”

Home-Start West Lothian Chair Louise Taylor said:

“The shop will help to raise vital funds to support our young families across West Lothian and help provide a pathway for employment through volunteering in the shop. The shop will also showcase the valuable work we do for families in the local community.

“On behalf of the Home-Start’s Board, I would like to thank Ms Hyslop and, indeed, all our staff and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to make our new shop a success.”

The shop sells quality affordable goods donated by local businesses and the wider community. The staff and volunteers will gratefully receive donations of clothes and bric-a-brac and don’t forget to ask about our Gift Aid. Add shop’s full address.
