Fiona Hyslop MSP for the Linlithgow Constituency is highlighting the progress of the new Banking Hub in Bathgate, due to officially open at its new premises in Morrison’s Car Park in Bathgate later this year. The current temporary location of the banking hub, which has been funded by Cash Access UK, is at the Jim Walker Partnership Centre. This is in addition to a new external bank machine at Day Today on Mid Street in Bathgate also funded by Cash Access UK which offers out of hours cash deposits and withdrawals.
Fiona commented,
“Last year I made it very clear how important community banking services were to the people and businesses of Bathgate, following the closure of the Bank of Scotland and Royal Bank of Scotland in the same year.
“While I am concerned at the limited availability of certain bank companies, I am pleased that members of the community will still have face to face in person services at the Community Banking Hub, which older and more vulnerable people in particular completely reply on. I am concerned though that the Morrisons Hub is relatively out of town for people and that the hub has not been sited more centrally.
“The Banking Hub has shared that my Constituents in Bathgate can visit their own banks at the Hub on the following days:
Monday: Santander
Tuesday: Royal Bank of Scotland
Wednesday: Bank of Scotland
Thursday: TSB
Friday: Barclays “
