Local MSP, Fiona Hyslop, Records in Parliament the First Female Provost of the Court of Deacons.
Local MSP for the Linlithgow Constituency, Fiona Hyslop, has lodged a motion to the Scottish Parliament congratulating Elizabeth Park on being elected as the first female to the post of Provost of the Court of the Deacons of the Ancient and Royal Burgh of Linlithgow. The Court is an organisation within Linlithgow that’s prime function is to finance, organise and manage the Riding of the Marches in the town of Linlithgow which dates back to the 1200s. Elizabeth Park has served on the Deacons Court for over 25 years and has took on several roles within the organisation before being elected as Provost.
