SNP MSP for Lothians Fiona Hyslop has visited Boghall Butchers in Boghall, Bathgate this afternoon to show her support and congratulations for the small business that recently won two awards at the British Pie Awards 2010.
Mr John Boyle and his staff won Best Vegetarian Pie, for his veggie haggis pie and Best Fish Pie, for his cod and white wine creation at the event in May.
Ms Hyslop commented;
“I believe that small businesses sit at the heart of our local communities and so I was delighted to hear about Mr Boyle’s recent accomplishments.
“I wrote to Mr Boyle in May to congratulate him and his staff and mentioned I was interested in visiting his business.
“The food here is incredible and I am looking forward to their participation in next year’s competition.”
