Fiona Hyslop Comments on Council Plea for Vion Commenting on West Lothian Council’s recent request to Vion’s EU Board for the company to donate the redundant plant in Broxburn to the council, Fiona said; “As the first to call for Vion to put their hands in their pockets to support West Lothian after the loss of 1700 jobs, it is only right that the plant donate the site to West Lothian Council to contribute to the regeneration of the local economy and the communities who have been affected by these job losses. “Our Taskforce meetings reconvene on Thursday (24th January) and I look forward to seeing what Vion bring to the table to offer the community and workforce they have let down.”

Hyslop Welcomes Boghall Centre’s £3000 Award Local MSP Fiona Hyslop has welcomed Boghall Drop In Centre on being awarded £3000 from the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland. Fiona said; “I am pleased that the Boghall Drop In Centre have received this £3000 award which will be put towards the cost of workers for their Sunshine Club, providing an important play scheme for the children of Boghall and Bathgate. “I would like to commend the excellent efforts carried out by the centre and wish the staff and volunteers the very best for all the work they do for the local community.”

West Lothian MSPs Welcome Recovery Plan but Urge Vion to Dig Deep Local West Lothian MSPs Fiona Hyslop (Linlithgow) and Angela Constance (Almond Valley) have welcomed the Scottish Government’s announcement of a Recovery Plan for Vion Halls employees in Broxburn but have repeated their comments that Vion MUST contribute to local support for their staff. Hyslop Announces Tesco Surgery to Coincide with Costa Launch Local MSP, Fiona Hyslop has added a visit to the new Costa Coffee in Tesco in Bathgate to her scheduled surgeries on Friday, December 7th at 10am. This visit will coincide with the official opening of the coffee shop. Fiona said; “It is important to have surgeries that meet the needs of constituents. Hyslop Congratulates Broxburn STEM Group UK Champions Local MSP, Fiona Hyslop has written to congratulate a group of Broxburn Acadmey pupils who have been officially recognised the Most Dedicated Science Club in the UK after winning the most recent STEM Challenge 9. Hyslop Welcomes Springfield Primary to Parliament SNP MSP for Linlithgow Constituency, Fiona Hyslop met with the staff and pupils from Springfield Primary on Tuesday when they visited the Scottish Parliament as part of the Holyrood Outreach Programme. Hyslop Welcomes Armadale Community Council to Parliament Fiona invited a group from Armadale Community Council to the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh last Thursday after she spoke at one of their monthly meetings earlier in the year.
